ON THE KOKODA TRACK
 |
|
During my
20 years at the Saints
I went on countless training camps.
These included army and navy camps, school camps, boot camps and even
trips to London, Sth Africa and China.
They all have their immediate benefits in terms of fitness and bonding
the team together.
Recently I had the privilege of joining 10 mates on an adventure to
walk the Kokoda Track. We chose Elite Ops because they best met our
criteria. This included first and foremost being good blokes. If you
are in the jungle for 8 days you want to be led by men you can trust. |
Secondly we wanted a company that would look after our physical needs
in terms of training programs and preparing to complete the journey
safely. Thirdly we wanted to be mindful of the history and tradition
associated with Kokoda and the people of PNG.
Having recently returned I can say that the experience far outweighed
any expectation I carried.
Not only was the trek physically rewarding but life changing in many
ways.
We returned with an insight into a unique part of Australias history as
well as an insight into a culture far different from our own.
All of this was facilitated by Elite Ops who orchestrated every
physical and emotional aspect to perfection.
I have now learnt that training camps can be more than getting people
fit or building team spirit. They can also make you a better, more well
rounded person.
I highly recommend Elite Ops and truly believe that my Kokoda
experience would not have been the same without them.
Kind regards
